The History of (what became) Eve´s Ink
Eve’s Ink is a small Flatcoated Retriever kennel based in Grästorp, in Västergötland Sweden. My name is Ann Andersson and I have earlier bred in cooperation under another Affix, but have now changed and bred solely under my own influence under the name “Eve´s Ink”.
Primarily interested in good workingabilities, but not neglecting the breedstandard and the look of the Flatcoat, I have gained interest in the “Dual Purpose” idea and have luckily have success in several fields with both my own dogs and the ones I have bred and sold on to ambitious puppy buyers.
Among all the dogs worth mentioning for one or another reason, below is only a few that have left a impression on my dogowner and breedinghistory |

SvCH LpII Kartegardens Dancing Eve My foundationbitch that lays to ground for both my severe interest and success. Competing both as a working, obedience, tracking and hunting dog as well as limited showing, Tuva has lived to all my expectations, and above, as a Flatcoated Retriever. Having had three litters, she remain in good condition at almost ten years old and she has proven to be a liable hunting dog and will keep on proving herself further on as retirement is something she don’t like to talk about… Tuva has been awarded the Triple Purpose Master award by the breedclub in 2000 and Best obedience dog in 2000 and 2001. She became 6th best veteran dog at the presigious FLATMÄSTERSKAPET of 2007.

SVCh Black Mariners Snowdance Smilla, Indras littersister, has only a limited showcareer so far, but has proven herself on the huntinggrounds aswell as on the obediencefield, where she has won several competitions and awards. She has resently even showed her super tracking skills and have gain several honerary diplomas in that fields.

SVCH LpI Lp II SUCH BIS Black Mariners Rock n Roll A son by Tuva from her second litter, by S Ch. N Ch. Almanza Better Late Then Never. Not only a good hunting & trackingdog, he has also proven himself on the obedience course and on hunting trials. Awarded the Dual Purpose Master award in 2005 by the Breed club and several good days in the showring recently was crowned with a Best In Show at the Spaniel and Retriever club of Sweden in Rottneros 2006. In 2007 he entered three huntingtrials and took one 3rd, and 2x1st price and now compeats in the topclass Elitklass. He aslo entered the showring during the year and gained his Swedish Championtitle during the summer. In september he won Best Of Breed at the kennelclubshow in Sofiero. Rocky lives outside Gothenburg and apart from his competition career, his owners, apart from treating him as a spoilt pet, use him as a hunting and tracking dog with great success…

SVCH Black Mariners Limbo Beach Limbo, Rockys litterbrother. A good dog in many aspects, Limbo has a certain passion for hunting and the sole sight of any hint of work ahead, turns this loving pet dog into a focused and competent huntingdevice… Sparingly shown so far, in the shadow of his successful brother, but we are making plans on campaigning him in the show ring over the near future.

|
SVCH Tjh Black Mariners Salsa Stop n Go Salsa, littersister to Rocky and Limbo, was sold as a practical huntingdog but have also shown to be a competent obedience dog. She has been under training to become a Rescue Dog and was successfully awarded her license during late Summer 2007. Within this litter, another two brothers are undergoing the same training at present. This proudly puts us to the fact that these dogs are not limited in their capacities.

SVCh Black Mariners Iron Will Young Ville, from Tuvas third and last litter, by the successful dual purposedog Almanza Certain Timing, has not yet gotten much opportunity to show all his qualities, but when given the chance, he have most certainly taken it. In his first showstart at the Kennelclub, he gracefully took the Juniorsclass in high competition. Several classwins since then have made us confident that time will prove us right in our high hopes and expectations for Ville. Spending his days as a beloved pet in Gothenburg, Ville is enjoying life as he matures and getting ready for the greater challenges ahead of him…

Eve´s Ink Freekick Young Lowa is by Black Mariners Flashdance and again we used the successful dual purposedog Almanza Certain Timing. Lowa has so far only been shown once, but on her debute, she won her class awarded CC-quality. A licensed trackingdog for huntingduties, with great praise from the judge is putting Lowa right behind her halfbrothers and sisters, to follow the heritage of her mothers skills.

|
Eve´s Ink Freestyle Young Cloetta is owned by a passionate hunter that use her for a variety of duties in the woods, by water etc. So far, the first start at a Fieltrial for both dog and owner resulted, to the owners limited satisfaction, in a 3rd price in Beginners Class. Cloetta is a very skilled retriever and her owner is giving her all the attention this talent deserves, and therefor we expect to see more impressive work by this young lady...

Eve´s Ink Freedom Young Nogger, littermate to Lowa and Cloetta, have everything you may wish for in a Flatcoated Retriever male. Easygoing and kind, but a workingcapacity that leaves nothing to wish for. Another licensed trackingdog for huntingduties, with great praise from the judge puts Nogger right beside his talented sisters. Nogger is owned by a practical hunter and is used for various huntingduties.

| As you may find, the dogs mentioned above represent a wide variety of abilities and qualities. Something I would like to think is a trademark of my goals and ambitions in my breedingprogram. The passion for the breed and love for the sport can only be taken for granted when taking upon the responsibility to breed dogs. But, as may be clear as stated above, nothing would be possible without the help and shared passion from my lovely puppy buyers, who have taken great care of their dogs in every aspect and made me proud so many times. Sincerely, I thank You! // Ann | |
